The Brazilian Journal of Orthopaedics, (Revista Brasileira de Ortopedia [RBO]), is published in a yearly volume, divided into ten issues; it aims to divulge articles that contribute for the development of Orthopaedics and the like specialties practice, research, and teaching. The RBO editorial policy is ruled by the Editorial Board, which is headed by the Chief Editor.

Articles published by RBO follow recommended standardization procedures, as recommended by the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (www.icmje.org) and, to be approved, are submitted by a three-member peer review who, anonymously, receive the text, decide on the publication, suggest any modifications, request author clarification, or recommend the ultimate rejection to the Chief Editor.

The article must be accompanied by a letter signed by all the authors authorizing publication, stating that the article has not yet been published, and neither had nor has been submitted for publication in any other journal or book.

That letter must contain a Declaration of Conflict of Interest and, when pertinent, the Certificate of Approval from the Institutional Review Board where the study has taken place. Information on eventual sources of financial sponsorship should be documented.

An article on human clinical research must include the statement that all participants signed an Informed Consent form.

The article accepted for publication will be a property from RBO and cannot be partially or wholly edited by any other publishing media without previous, written authorization by the Chief Editor.

The article must be written in Portuguese or English.

All articles submitted will present on the Cover Letter: the title of the article; name of authors; the site of the study and/or the research; and correspondence address, telephone, facsimile, or e-mail. The article must only mention the main qualification of each author.
