Welcome to the website of the Brazilian Journal of Orthopaedic (Revista Brasileira de Ortopedia – RBO), official scientific journal of the Brazilian Society of Orthopaedic and Traumatology (SBOT). Established 40 years ago, RBO is one of the important journals of our specialty, attached to the database of Latin American Literature in Sciences of Health (LILACS) and Excerpta Medica/Embase.

Here you will have exclusive access to the brazilian scientific production in Orthopaedic and Traumatology since 1993. The subjects are boarded in four great groups: Original Articles, Update Articles, Case Report and Surgical Techniques developed by the most important researchers of Brazil.

In 2007, RBO went through an important change: the creation of an Editorial Council formed by seven members, for a two year term. This Council is responsible for guiding the journal, guaranteeing the elaboration of the scientific content raised standards and to indicate the members of the Editorial Board. Another innovation is related to the Editor-in-chief, who becomes assigned by the members of the Editorial Council, and not more an indication of the SBOT president. The election inside the Council confers to its process in the strict technical criteria, with no political influence.

With these changes we are giving an important step so that the RBO consolidates its position among the greatest scientific world’s publications in Orthopaedists . We will continue working to guarantee that the Brazilian Orthopaedists have access to all the necessary tools to guarantee their update and continuing education.
